HOSPITAL'S FOUNDATION LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE
Inverness - In 2004, the Citrus Memorial Health System created their Foundation Development Office, the fund-raising arm of the hospital. The goal was to secure financial contributions to allow Citrus Memorial to meet today's numerous healthcare challenges, one of which is a rising population with limited or without health insurance. In August of this year, their efforts became evident with the opening of Pediatric Park, a suite within the hospital providing care specifically for children. This was made possible by private donations. Recently, to provide citizens of the county with in-depth information about the activities and achievements of the Foundation, a new website has been created. Everyone is invited to view the site by logging on to the internet and typing into the address line: www.cmhfoundation.com. The Foundation's site can also be accessed through the hospital's main website.
"In such a short time, we've come so far," said Chris Pool, Development Director for Citrus Memorial Health System. "With the opening of Pediatric Park, a much needed and secure unit within the hospital to treat sick and injured children, we have shown what can be done when individuals, businesses, organizations, anyone, step forward with donations."
According to Pool, fund raising for the capital campaign continues with fun events in 2007 such as the ongoing concert series now offered at Citrus Springs Community Center, plus the 3rd Annual "Salute To Our Community" concert on March 11th, the Dr. Randall Jenkins Memorial Golf Tournament on March 12th, the Citrus Memorial Ball on May 19th and other events in the county. The new money raised will go to build the Family Care & Health Center in Lecanto and to support Phase II of Pediatrics at that location.
"By going to our website, people can find out more about our progress, about the concerts and other events and businesses can find out about sponsorships. There are many photos and each section is so easy to read and navigate. There is even a page to print out a Donor Form should someone wish to donate to our charitable organization," added Pool.
The website was created, edited, designed and launched by Crowley & Company Advertising, Inc, located in Hernando in cooperation with High Quality Website, located in Homosassa.
