Citrus Memorial Health System developed its Health College Program to provide local business and community leaders an opportunity to get a day-long "behind-the-scenes" view of Citrus County's largest health care provider.
They started in the surgery department and rotated through Emergency, the Health Center, Diagnostic Imaging, OB, Laboratory Services, Home Health, and other areas.
Quotes from participants included: "I was surprised at the number of professionals working for the hospital obviously dedicated to the work they do." "I was blown away by the technology and the capabilities and enthusiasm." "This was a great training opportunity: so informative, so interesting, so educational." "Citrus Memorial is a great resource for our county."
The Citrus Memorial Health College Intern Program will occur six times a year. Interested? Contact Development Director Chris Pool at 344-6560.
