Who was Dr. Randall Jenkins?

For those who may not have known Dr. Randall Jenkins, we thought perhaps you should be made aware of the significant role he played in the development and growth of Citrus Memorial Hospital.

Randall Jenkins graduated from Citrus High School and earned his Medical Doctor degree at Emory University Medical School in Georgia. After serving two years as an Air Force flight surgeon he returned home to practice family medicine in Citrus County.

As a founding physician associated with Citrus Memorial Hospital, he helped build Citrus Memorial from a small outpost to a large, modern facility. He was hospital Chief of Staff and served on the hospital governing board a total of 18 years.

Dr. Jenkins died of cancer on August 27, 2001, at his Black Diamond home. He was 67 years old and like his passion for medicine, he also enjoyed the game of golf!

He is survived by his loving wife Claire who carries on the Jenkins' legacy of giving back to the community by serving as an active member of the Foundation's Advisory Council.
