Mike Hampton, star pitcher for the Atlanta Braves and his wife Kautia, residents of Citrus County, were greeted by Chris Pool, the CMHS Foundation Director, and given a tour of the new Pediatric Park. The Hamptons, who recognized the county's growing need for a place to treat sick children in their own special section of the hospital, were the first to step forward with a large financial contribution. |

Welcoming visitors and the media to the Open House of the new Pediatric Park are (L to R) Chris Pool, CMHS Foundation Development Director, Congresswoman Ginnie Brown-Waite, and Ryan Beaty, C.E.O of CMHS. |

The new Pediatric Park suite at Citrus Memorial was first viewed by the public at the Open House held on Thursday, August 10th. A slice of cake, a mini Teddy bear, a chance to sign the "official" card, and a guided tour of the suite were some of the activities enjoyed by the many supporters of the project, including local and regional politicians, who came out for this event. The first child was moved into the suite on Monday, August 14, 2006.
